Stroetz, Jane Marie (McGivern) (13 APR 1935 - 22 MAR 2016)
Jane Marie (McGivern) Stroetz, age 80 of Stratford, passed away peacefully with
her family by her side, early Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Miller's Alternative
Care in Marshfield, WI.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Zion
United Methodist Church (2106 N. Peach Avenue) in Marshfield. Visitation will be
held at the church from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Burial will take place at a
later date.
Jane was born on April 13, 1935, the daughter of Andy and Nettie (Bradley)
McGivern in Marshfield, WI. She attended Stratford Schools.
On February 2, 1952 Jane was united in marriage to the love of her life Donald
Stroetz at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Don and Jane owned and
operated Stroetz's Tap for 17 years. Jane also was a proud home maker and loving
mother.
Jane and Don enjoyed snowmobiling. They also loved to go on road trips gambling;
and she sure had the luck of the Irish. She especially enjoyed spending time
with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren at the many family get
togethers, Christmases, Birthdays, and potlucks. There were many happy times
spent up north at the Cottage. Those that knew Jane best will miss her laughter.
Jane is lovingly survived by her husband: Don; her children: Mary Jane (David)
Swenson, Nancy (Gene) Schneider, Patty Kmiec, Jim Stroetz, Barb Peterson, Karen
(Leonard) Daniels; her grandchildren: Mark (Tina Worzella) Swenson, Andy
Swenson, John (Heather) Swenson, Terri Vanderboom, Brenda (Matt) Churkey, Mike
(Tammy Livingston) Kmiec, Justin Peterson, Devan, Colin, and Brandon Daniels,
Michelle Heiman; as well as 6 great grandchildren. She is further survived by
her siblings: Mike (Jane) McGivern and Mary (John) Kirsten. She will truly be
missed.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-laws: Tom Kmiec and Russ
Peterson; as well as her brothers: Jerry, Bill, and Pat.
Special thank you to Atrium Acute Care Center; Tammy and Staff at Miller
Alternative Care; and the special angel Donna Mae for the kind thoughts and
words that Jane shared with her on Monday evening. Thank you to Pastor Mike and
anyone else who may have visited Jane.
