Cyzan, Dawn S. (Hoeft) (18 DEC 1930 - 11 NOV 2016)

Dawn S. Cyzan, 85, Wausau, formerly of Marathon, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, surrounded by her family, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Mountain Terrace, Wausau.

She was born Dec. 18, 1930, in Wausau, daughter of the late Lawrence and Anna (Hohndorf) Hoeft. On Feb. 18, 1950, she married Michael Cyzan in Milwaukee. He survives.

After Dawn’s mother passed away at the age of 43, she raised her three young sisters and later adopted three children. She was an excellent cook, liked singing in the choir, listening to all types of music and had a collection of many albums. She also enjoyed crafts and attending events like Art in the Park. In her younger years, Dawn and Michael did a lot of traveling and she made sure to bring a bell home from each location for her collection. They worked hard and after a long day they would invite their many friends over for card parties. Above all, she loved her family and cherished time spent with them.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Cyzan, Wausau; children, Jill (Ed) Mielke, Fenwood, Severn “Butch” (Bernie) Cyzan, Merrill, and Scott (Lynn) Cyzan, Wausau; grandchildren, Jason (Angie) Stahel, Jamie Weiler, Jeremy (Pam) Stahel, Justin Cyzan and Devin (April) Cyzan; great-grandchildren, Shynia, Cheyenne and Dakota Stahel, Cody and Caylee Weiler, Carlie, Kyson, Kiearra and Kale Stahel and Deklan Cyzan; sisters, Doris (Ken) Schmidt, Lois “Lucy” Ugoretz and Marion “Suzie” Tollar; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, James Ugoretz.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service, all at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain Terrace and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for their amazing, personal care given to Dawn.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
