Marschke, Ruth Ann (28 DEC 1937 - 26 OCT 2013)

Ruth Ann Marschke, age 75, of Golden Living Center, Rib Lake, passed away on Saturday, October 26 at Golden Living Center, Rib Lake, where she had resided for the past 8 days.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 2 at Woodland Community Church, Westboro, with Pastor Brian Karlick officiating. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake.

The urnbearer is Gary Marschke.

Visitation will be at the Hemer Funeral Home – Rib Lake from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, November 1 and also at church from 10 AM until the time of services on Saturday, November 2.

Ruth was born on December 28, 1937 at Cook County, IL, to Arthur Julius and Gertrude Vera (Simon) Marschke.

She attended school in Michigan, Rib Lake and Medford.

Ruth was previously married and later divorced.

She baby sat for more than 100 children throughout her life while residing in Rib Lake. She worked as a nurses aid in Chippewa Falls for a period of time. She returned to Rib Lake where she did volunteer work at the Rib Lake Sr. Center, Rib Lake American Legion Auxiliary and Golden Living Center. She enjoyed crocheting, needle work and word search.

Ruth was a member of the Rib Lake American Legion Auxiliary; Past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rib Lake.

She is survived by her children, Patty Marschke of Menomonie, WI; Mike Marschke of Adams County, WI; siblings Sandra Hanson of Milwaukee, Nancy (Joey) Ellis of Myrtle Beach, S. Carolina, Sue (Rollie) Thums of Rib Lake, Diana (David) Schaus of Mayville, Debra (Fred) Kravontka of Wausau, Jack (Tootie) Marschke of Hollywood Park, FL, Art Jr. “Butch” (Joan) Marschke of Medford, Gary (Donna Krueger) Marschke of Rib Lake, Bryan (Dawn) Marschke of Rib Lake.

Ruth is predeceased by her parents, Arthur Julius and Gertrude Vera (Simon) Marschke; siblings, Jim Marschke; and brother-in-law, Don Hanson.

Further survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
