Anderson, John Elmer (10 MAY 1908 – 9 MAY 1969)
John Elmer Anderson, 60, Colby, died Friday morning, May 9, 1969 at his home in
Colby unexpectedly.
Service were held Monday, May 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Colby. Burial was made in made in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Lulloff Funeral Home.
Mr. Anderson was born at La Crosse May 10, 1908. He lived with his foster
parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.P. Jensen at Medford from the age of three. He received
his education in the Medford schools. He married Erma Elpert at Withee Catholic
Church August 26, 1930. The couple lived in Withee, Stetsonville and Abbotsford,
but have lived in Colby for the last 25 years.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors, besides his wife, include five children, Marie (Mrs. James Wilde) of
Colby, Peter of Dorchester, Robert of Spencer, Ida (Mrs. Donald Rosenlof) of
Union, Illinois, and Kathleen (Mrs. Paul Kaufman) of Colby; 22 grandchildren; 5
great grandchildren, 6 half-brothers and sisters and his grandmother, Mrs. Anna
Nelson of La Crosse.
A daughter, Beverly, preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were Herb Sterzinger, Bud Morrow, Duke Ludwig, Everett Johnson, Gene
Wilde and John Goodwin.
