Flora "Sis" M. Fladvid, 88, Athens, died Friday, May 23, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau
Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens. Rev. Andrew Alberts will officiate.
Burial will be in the Athens Village Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral
home.
She was born May 21, 1920 in Phillips, Wis., daughter of the late Frank and
Maria (Sangkuhl) Zierer. On February 14, 1946, she married Walter Fladvid in
Wausau. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1995.
Flora was a homemaker and worked many part-time jobs throughout the years. She
retired in 1980 from the Hartman's Variety Store, Athens, following 13 years of
employment. Among her many interests, she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens,
sewing, crocheting and crossword puzzles. Flora had been a resident of Marywood
Convalescent Center for the past six years.
Survivors include, one daughter, Gail (Daniel) Soczka, Princeton, Wis. and her
four children, David (Trini) Soczka and their children, Reina, Elijah, Beau and
Jacob, Smithfield, VA, Todd (Sue) Soczka and their children, Eliza and Adam,
Wauwatosa, Wade (Cindy) Soczka and their son, Danny, DeForest and Chantel
(special friend Jeff) Soczka, El Segundo, CA; two sons, Gerald (Sue) Wenzel,
Marinette and their three children, Michael (Kaylin) Wenzel, Green Bay, Dan
Wenzel, Madison and Gerald Wenzel Jr., NJ; and Dennis (Nathalie) Fladvid, Athens
and their three children, Jennifer (Kevin) Lipinski and their children, Olivia,
Carley and Brody, Athens, Julie (Tom) Peter and their children, Nicholas and
Ryanne, Athens and Jacquelyn (Michael) Thurs, and their children, Taylor and
Tony, Athens.
Besides her parents and husband, Walter, she was preceded in death by an infant
son, Ronnie Wenzel; an infant granddaughter, Linda Wenzel; and two brothers,
Bernard and Franklin Zierer.
