Kolecheck, Joseph “Joe” A. (2 FEB 1952 - 16 OCT 2013)
Joseph “Joe” A. Kolecheck, age 61, of W3872 W. Rib Road , Westboro passed away
on Wednesday, April 10 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and Hope
Hospice.
The funeral mass will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 19 at the Good Shepherd
Catholic Church, Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher and Deacon Mark Priniski
officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake.
Pallbearers will be Paul, Kevin and Kerry Kolecheck; Mark and Brandon Czekay;
and Patrick Sperl.
Visitation will be at 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, April 18 at the Hemer Funeral
Home, Rib Lake where there will be a 7:00 P.M. Parish prayer Service and also
from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 19 at the
Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake.
Joe was born on February 2, 1952 in Medford, to Frank and Evelyn (Carlson)
Kolecheck.
He attended Clearview Grade School and was a 1970 graduate of Rib Lake High
School.
On October 16, 1982, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, Joe married Judith
M. Sperl. She preceded him in death on October 20, 2005.
After high school, Joseph and Judith owned and operated a dairy farm for 28
years. He was then employed my Marathon Cheese for 7 years. During this time he
was also a sub at the Medford Post office for a number of years. Joe enjoyed
snowmobiling, fishing and camping. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic
Church, Rib Lake.
Joe is survived by his children, Brad and Jeff Kolecheck both of Westboro;
siblings, Francis (Annabelle) Kolecheck of Racine; Mike (Phyllis) Kolecheck of
Rib Lake; Doris Romig of Gilman; and Barb Bawiec of Milwaukee; step
sister-in-law Dorothy Schopp of Montana;
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Evelyn (Carlson) Kolecheck;
siblings, Dave Kolecheck; 2 step-brothers: Ed and Roger Schopp; and 2
brothers-in-law: Ted Romig; and Joe Bawice; step sister-in-law Betty Schopp.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Joe’s family to be designated at a
later date.
