Rode, Clarice M (15 AUG 1926 - 22 NOV 2016)

Clarice M. Rode, age 90, of Withee, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center under the tender care of hospice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Father Charles Hiebl will officiate. Family and friends are welcome from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.

Clarice was born on August 15, 1926, the daughter of Alex and Eva (Roglaski) Langiewciz in Withee. She was the 4th of 11 children. As she grew older she played accordion in a band that she and her sisters formed called "The Lang Sisters." Later Clarice moved to Minneapolis and worked at the Wonder Bread Bakery. That is where she met her husband, Russell Rode.

Clarice was united in marriage to Russell in April of 1950. She moved and lived in many different states following her husband with his career in the U. S. Navy. Clarice raised four children. After her husband's retirement from the service, they returned back to her homeland of Withee. She was active in her local church, Holy Rosary, loved to play horseshoes and go fishing. Clarice also loved being around her family.

Clarice is survived by her husband of 66 years, Russell; her four children: Alex (Brenda) Rode, Richard (Carol) Rode, Greg (Di) Rode and Margaret Steinbeck; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is further survived by four sisters: Audrey (Bill) Peterson, Henrietta Harder, Eve Rixford, Joan (Roger) Frese; one brother, Richie (Bonnie) Langiewicz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She leaves us to go join the rest of her family, her parents, Alex and Eva; her brother and sisters: Willie, Delores, Leona, Alex and Adam and many Aunts and Uncles in Heaven.

Family and friends may express condolences online at www.maurinaschilling.com.
