Riemer, Fanny (24 MAY 1882 – 7 MAY 1969)
Services were held for Mrs. Fanny Riemer, 86, a former town of Halsey (Marathon
Co., Wis.) resident (rural Athens), on Saturday, May 10 at 2 p.m. at Trinity
Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Seip, pastor, officiated, and burial was made in
the Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Hamburg. Mrs. Riemer had died Wednesday
afternoon, May 7, 1969 at the Marshfield Convalescent Home.
The former Fanny Weise was born May 24, 1882 in Germany, and at the age of six
months came with her parents to the United States. She was married at the Salem
Lutheran Church September 7, 1901 to Robert Riemer. The couple operated a farm
in the town of Halsey until Mr. Riemer's death in April of 1950. For the past
three years she had resided at the Marshfield Convalescent Home.
Survivors include a son, Ervin Riemer of Athens; three daughters, Mrs. Walter
Loos of Colby, Mrs. Ken Krohn of Wausau, and Mrs. Gene Stuempke of Elmhurst,
Ill.; 11 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
