Skerven, Anna (23 APR 1880 – 13 MAY 1969)
Mrs. Anna Skerven, 89, a former Abbotsford area resident, died May 13, 1969 at
Edgewater Haven Convalescent Home at Port Edwards. Funeral services were held
Friday, May 16 at the Taylor Funeral Home at Wisconsin Rapids, and burial was
made in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
The former Anna Bremer was born in Altenburg, Germany, April 23, 1880. When she
was two years old her family came to America, settling near Abbotsford. Her
marriage to Nicholas Stevens took place February 3, 1903.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Harvey of Wisconsin Rapids, Raymond
of Nekoosa, Fred of Monroe, Mrs. Gilbert Westphal of Abbotsford, and Mrs. Joe
Proft of Wilmette, Illinois. There are also ten grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
Her husband, a son and a daughter preceded her in death.
Pallbearers were Ben Graffunder, Donald Proft, Arnie Proft, Joe Proft, Wayne
Skerven, and Kenneth Skerven.
