Marcella A. Thurs, 95, 320 N. 4th Avenue, Edgar died Sunday, September 9, 2007 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Hospice House.

The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. The Rev. Norman Boneck will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the Church. There will be a parish rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. John Catholic Church.

She was born December 10, 1911 in the town of Cassel, daughter of the late Leonard and Josephine (Mucha) Hall. On November 11, 1930 she married Anthony Thurs at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1963.

Marcella was a homemaker and also worked at Pauly Cheese for more than 10 years. Some of her favorite pastimes included gardening, baking cookies for the grandchildren, sewing and canning but most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Luella (Gerald) Straub, Wausau, Alvina (Raymond) Joswiak and Marian (James) Warosh, both of Edgar, Jean (Roger) Rasmussen, Marathon, Anthony (Janice) Thurs and Walter (Judy) Thurs, both of Edgar, two brothers Wilfred (Ruth) Hall and Victor (Jeanette) Hall, both of Edgar, 26 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister Juanita Schmidt and her brothers Leonard, Julius, Michael, Walter, Arnold and Alexander Hall.
