Augustine, Arline Augusta (Auner) (16 FEB 1912 - 15 JUN 2012)

In his infinite wisdom the Lord has called to his eternal home the soul of our departed Christian sister, Arline Augusta Augustine, on June 15, 2012 at the age of 100 years and 4 months.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. Rev. Andrew Alberts will officiate. Burial will be in Athens Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Arline was born February 16, 1912, in a log house in the town of Halsey to Emil and Anna (Schneider) Auner. She received the sacrament of Holy Baptism on March 24, 1912, and was confirmed in her Christian faith on May 16, 1926, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens.

On May 28, 1931, she married Lawrence Augustine and they farmed in the town of Halsey until they sold their farm in 1969. Arline was a homemaker and Lawrence's "right hand man" on the farm. After they sold their farm, they moved to Athens where Arline worked as a cook for a number of years at the Athens High School.

She is survived by her four children, Alvira (Haron) Henrichs, Joyce (La Verne) Henrichs, David (Ruth Ann) Augustine, and Dale (Pat) Augustine; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and 10 great great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

Besides her parents and husband, Lawrence, she was preceded in death by an infant baby, her twin sister, Delphine Jefferies, and brother, Lawrence Auner.

"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever." 1 Peter 1:24
