Hrobsky, Daniel E. (28 DEC 1932 - 11 MAR 2011)
Daniel E. Hrobsky, 78, Athens, died Friday March 11, 2011 at his home.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Tuesday March 15, 2011 at St.
Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau where full military honors will be conducted
after the service.. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn
Memorial Park, Wausau.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home,
3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time
of services at the church.
He was born December 28, 1932, in Kewaunee, son of the late Herman and Emily (Ledvina)
Hrobsky. On September 15, 1956, he married Patricia Vetter at St. Mary Catholic
Church, Marathon. She survives.
Daniel was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Air Force. He was
a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mar-Lin Post No. 10203.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a papermaker with Wausau Papers
for 40 years. Among his favorite things to do were, playing cards, watching
westerns, fishing, hunting, traveling and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hrobsky, Athens, five children, David
Hrobsky, Elizabeth Franks, Catherine (Scott) Huber, all of Wausau, Jeremy (Karolee)
Hrobsky, Neenah, Judith (Brad) Champine, Appleton, five grandchildren, Tiffany,
Amber, Eric, Mary and Charley; five step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren,
Michael, Draeven, Matthew, Dezaray, Miranda, Alexis; two
step-great-granddaughters and two step-sisters.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Hrobsky, his
step-mother, Josephine Hrobsky and one step-brother.
