Stremer, Evelyn E. (Bahr) (28 JUN 1914 - 13 JAN 2012)
Evelyn E. Stremer, 97, a lifelong resident of Athens, died January 13, 2012
under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Mount View Care
Center, Wausau.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at St.
Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial
will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m.
until the time of services all at the church.
She was born June 28, 1914 in the town of Johnson, daughter of the late Fred and
Angeline (Klenka) Bahr. On June 28, 1941 she married Edmund "Lefty" Stremer in
Athens. Evelyn and her husband operated Borchardt and Stremer Garage for over 25
years. Edmund preceded her in death on February 27, 1990.
Evelyn enjoyed quilting, playing bingo and was an excellent cook. She was a
member of the St. Anthony PCCW and a 50 year member of the National Catholic
Society of Foresters.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn (John) Habeck, Madison; sons, Roger
(Sandra) Stremer, Mosinee, David (June) Stremer, Stevens Point and Mark
(Annette) Stremer, Mosinee; grandchildren, Steve (Mollie Guldan) Stremer, Eric
(Carrie) Stremer, Michael Stremer, Rebecca (Sean) Mahin, Heidi Kolodziej, Dan
(Carolyn Turcott) Habeck and Jaclyn (Dave) Ness; great-grandchildren, Drew and
Ben Stremer, Zach and Megan Stremer, Tien and Nikayah Kolodziej, Dashel, Esme,
Everly and Bode Habeck and Callyn Ness; and a sister, Beatrice (Lloyd) Aderhold,
Green Bay; sister-in-law, Carmen Ripple, Spokane, Washington; other nieces,
nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Edmund
Bahr.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the compassionate
caregivers at Mount View Care Center for their excellent care given to Evelyn
during her stay there.
