Fiedler, Arleen M. (Berghammer) (12 MAY 1922 - 27 APR 2011)
Arleen M. Fiedler, 88, Athens, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Continental
Manor, Abbotsford.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 30, 2011 at St.
Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Very Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Friday from 4 -
8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Saturday from
Noon until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary
service at 7:45 p.m. Friday evening at the Athens funeral home.
She was born May 12, 1922, in Athens, daughter of the late Henry and Wilhelmina
(Vogel) Berghammer. On September 22, 1945, she married Harold Fiedler at St.
Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. He preceded her in death May 6, 1983.
For over 40 years, Arleen made wedding and all occasion cakes in Athens. She was
also known for the craft and lawn ornament shop she operated for many years.
Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was the loving mother of three daughters, Carolyn (Jim) Bornheimer, Wausau,
Kitty (Jim) Diedrich, Edgar, Jane (Jonathan) Bunkelman, Athens, six
grandchildren, Brian Bornheimer, Wausau, Kim (Nate) VanBerkel, Wausau, Laura
(Kurt) Schoenrock, Hudson, Jeffrey (Stacy) Diedrich, Marathon, Nicole (Steve)
Ellenbecker, Athens, Heather (Tim) Krueger, Athens, eight great grandchildren,
Nick, Matt, Eric, Braeden, Ava, Carleigh, Rylee and Colton, two sisters-in-law,
Betty Berghammer, Kenosha, Muriel Berghammer, Wausau.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jim and
John Fiedler, seven siblings, Della Shelly, Ann Metzdorf, Oldelia Thorson, John,
Arthur, Buddy and Ewald Berghammer.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Golden
Living Center Continental Manor, Abbotsford, for all the wonderful care and
support given to Arleen.
