Funeral Home, Athens. Burial will be in Athens Village Cemetery. Friends may

Edwin was born August 1, 1911 in a house near the creek in Athens, son of the
late Edward and Emelia (Hern) Heldt. On March 1, 1940 he married Ann Lazz in
Athens. She preceded him in death on February 24, 1991.
Ed lived and worked on a farm for most of his life. He was a self made man who
was most proud of his accomplishments of building a furnace business, building
milk trucks, having a milk route and logging his 180 acres of Virgin Timber. Ed
loved to work and believed that everyone can be successful with hard work. He
also enjoyed playing the Hawaiian guitar and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his two daughters, Avery (Dale) Schaetzl, Wausau and Shirley
(John) Rhyner, Weston; three grandsons, Ronnie Schaetzl, Dean Schaetzl and
Matthew Rhyner; and one brother, Walter Heldt, Marathon.
Besides his parents and wife, Ann, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Alan
Schaetzl, one sister, Olga and three brothers, Herman, Ervin and Arthur.
