Mr. and Mrs. S.E. Grimes spent Christmas Weekend at the home of their daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Gene Altenburg in Minnetonka, Minn.. Other guests there were Mrs.
H. Altenburg and son Jim of Portland, Oregon. Jim was recently discharge from
the service and left Tuesday for Miami, Florida, where he has employment, while
Mrs. Altenburg accompanied the Grimes as far as Eau Claire on their return trip,
where she is visiting relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wollum and Mrs. Prudence Turney drove to Eagle River
Saturday, returning home on Tuesday, after spending Christmas at the Bill Wollum
home. Joel Wollum, student at WSU, Eau Claire, was also at home. They also
visited the Edward Bergstrom home, who were enjoying the visit being paid them
by their son Randy, who is a student at WSU, Eau Claire.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Anderson enjoyed Christmas Day in Stanley visiting their
niece and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Soellers.
Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parke and Mr. and Mrs. Uno Bakke
over the holidays were Mr. and Mrs. George Bakke of St. Paul.
Miss Minnie Brown, who makes her home with her sister, Mrs. Carl Halverson, went
to Milwaukee last week to visit friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Krogmann of Oconomowoc spent Christmas at the Ray Wagner home.
Danney Galarowicz, Bill Montag, Judy Miller, and Nancy Brussow, all students at
the University of Wisconsin at Madison, are spending their Christmas recess at
their respective home.
Jim Hill, student at WSU, Eau Claire, is spending his Christmas vacation with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Hill.
Christmas Eve dinner guests at the Henry Mauel Sr. home were Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Mauel Jr. and family, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lehnen and family, Alice Mauel of
Wausau, Kitty Shreve, student at WSU, Stevens Point, and Mary Shreve, student at
WSU, Eau Claire. Both girls are enjoying their two week holiday vacations with
relatives here.
Pat Pabich of Chicago came home to spend the Christmas season with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Pabich and his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Pabich and
family.
John Schliefe, a student at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, spent the
Christmas holidays at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Schliefe.
Larry Looker, who is stationed at Ft. Meyer, outside Washington, D.C., arrived
home Saturday for a week's leave at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil
Looker. Their daughter, Linda, a student at WSU, Stevens Point, is also home
with them.
