Among the students graduating with honors at the Midwinter Commencement of
Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire, next Sunday, January, 21, 1968, will be
Diane Wirtala Wendt of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).
The ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the University Fieldhouse. Dr.
Richard P. Bailey, president of Northland College, Ashland, will be the speaker;
his topic is "Out on the Frontier." Dr. Bailey will become president of Hamline
University, St. Paul, on July 1, 1968. The public is cordially invited to attend
the commencement and hear this distinguished educator.
A reception for the graduates and their parents and friends will be held in the
W.R. Davies University Center immediately following the commencement. Receiving
Bachelor's degrees are 57 persons in the School of Arts and Sciences, 65 in the
School of Education, and 26 in the School of Business. Three persons will
receive the Master of Arts in Teaching degree, and six in the Master of Science
in Teaching.
