Riehle, Lawrence P. (26 APR 1922 - 20 JAN 2011)
Lawrence P. Riehle, 88, Athens, died Thursday January 20, 2011 at St. Joseph
Hospital, Marshfield.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 24, 2011 at St.
Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be
in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the
time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, is in
charge of arrangements.
He was born April 26, 1922 in Wausau, son of the late Conrad and Anna (Berres)
Riehle. On October 18, 1944 he married Marie Mallak at St. Anthony Catholic
Church, Athens. She survives.
Prior to his retirement, Lawrence was a dairy farmer. Lawrence was a member of
St. Anthony Catholic Church and had been involved as an usher and Eucharistic
Minister. He also served as the treasurer of the Senior Citizens Club and loved
to play cards. Special to him was the time spent with his family, especially
visiting his great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Riehle, Athens, a daughter, Sharon (James)
LaPointe, Wausau, grandchildren, Aimee (Patrick) Pritzl, Park Falls and Michael
(Cindy Mann) LaPointe, Wausau, three great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katie and
Benjamin Pritzl, three sisters, Marietta Michalski, Marathon, Patricia (John)
Wesolowski, Wausau, Carol (David) Draeger, Wausau, four brothers, Harold (Joyce)
Riehle, Milwaukee, Dennis (Grace) Riehle, Weston, David (Gertrude) Riehle,
Madison, Edward Riehle, Phoenix.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Jerome
and James and one sister, Luella Mathie.
