Knorr, Dolores R. (Wielock) (26 MAR 1936 - 9 APR 2010)
Dolores R. Knorr, 74, Athens, died Friday, April 9, 2010 under the care of
Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Wausau Manor.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Holy
Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. The Very Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home,
Athens, and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the
church. There will be a parish prayer service 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral
home.
She was born March 26, 1936 in town of Rietbrock, daughter of the late Edward
and Regina (Stencil) Wielock. On February 13, 1956 she married Donald Knorr at
Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. He preceded her in death on August 1,
2000.
Dolores farmed with her family in the town of Rietbrock, enjoying years of
milking cows, field work and raising chickens until her and Donald's retirement.
She was a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church, working many hours
with the PCCW. Dolores enjoyed family gatherings, playing sheepshead and long
drives sightseeing.
Survivors include her son, Gerald "Jerry" Knorr, Athens; brother, George
(Phyllis) Wielock, Marathon; sister-in-law, Margaret Knorr, Wausau; special
niece, Annette (Wayne) Gajewski, Athens and their children, Matthew (Annie)
Gajewski, Green Bay, Stacey and Erin Gajewski, both of Athens; other loving
nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Donald, she was preceded in death by a
daughter, Sharon Knorr, sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Orville Lang.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Wausau
Manor for their love and support given to Dolores during her stay.
