Matysik, Dennis R. (9 MAY 1955 - 4 JUN 2010)

Dennis R. Matysik, 55, Colby, formerly of Athens, died Friday, June 4, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Very Reverend Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in the Athens Village Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.

He was born May 9, 1955 in Wausau, son of the late Leonard and Lucy (Mroczenski) Matysik.

Dennis was a 1973 graduate of the Athens High School and furthered his education as a graduate of North Central Technical College. He worked as a truck driver for Waldvogel Trucking, Antigo for ten years. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed watching college football and golf on TV, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and golfer.

Survivors include, his son, Ryan Leu, Edgar; four sisters, Marie (Bob) Silvestri, St. Charles, Mo., Diane (Glenroy) Guralski, Wausau, Doreen (Dick) Wojcik, Marshfield and Jan Wojtalewicz, Colby; one sister-in-law, Carol Matysik, Edgar; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews further survive.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerome Matysik.
