Waldhart, Helen J. (Pearson) Cummings (2 MAR 1932 - 30 NOV 2016)
Helen J. Waldhart, age 84, of Prentice, WI, passed away on Wednesday, November
30, 2016 at Azura Memory Care, Wausau, surrounded by her loving family.
The funeral service will be held at11:00 AM Saturday, December 3, 2016 at First
Lutheran Church, Ogema, with Rev. Dr. Bob Giese officiating. Interment will be
in the Hillside Cemetery, Ogema.
Pallbearers will be Justin Heizler, Landon, Colten, Eric, Kyle and Ryan
Cummings.
Visitation will be at the First Lutheran Church, Ogema, from 9 AM until the time
of services at 11 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2016.
Helen was born on March 2, 1932 at Prentice, WI, on the family homestead, to
Benjamin K. and Ella F. (Flifisher) Pearson.
She attended Rings school and was a graduate of Prentice High School.
Helen’s first marriage was to James B. Cummings, with whom she had 5 children.
Her second marriage was in 1989, to Vaughn F. Waldhart. He preceded her in death
in 2013.
After graduating high school, Helen moved to Milwaukee and worked for Cornell
Paper Company. In 1964, James and Helen moved to Ogema and purchased a dairy
farm. Helen also worked for Larson’s Pallet Company in Ogema for a period of
time. She loved to garden, can, making maple syrup, going to the casino, dining
out, going on trips with her family and caring for her grandchildren. Helen
always had coffee, cookies, a full candy dish and was always ready to visit with
anyone who stopped by. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Ogema; and the
Homemakers Club.
Helen is survived by her children, Cathy, Craig (Joyce), Randal (Jeanne) and
Todd (Joni) Cummings all of Ogema, and Jeffrey Cummings of Phillips;
step-children: Holly (Phillip) Wachuta and Lee (Vicki) Waldhart both of
Stetsonville, Lynda Caskey of River Falls, Laurie (Thomas) Retzloff of Hartford
and Sara (Robert) Fochs of Mosinee; 11 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren; 5
great grandchildren; and a brother Kenneth (Karen) Pearson of Ogema.
She is predeceased by her husband Vaughn F. Waldhart, parents Benjamin K. and
Ella F. (Flifisher) Pearson; siblings Florence (Ralph) Stiener and Mrytle
(Raymond) Levenson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Helen’s name to the First Lutheran
Church in Ogema.
