Brehm, Richard L. (29 JUL 1936 - 9 APR 2010)

Richard L. Brehm, 73, Edgar, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. The Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Friends may call Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of services all at the church.

He was born July 29, 1936 in Athens, son of the late Ewald and Helen (Andres) Brehm. On October 5, 1968 he married Delores Sommer at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. She Survives.

Richard worked for many years as a carpenter and enjoyed woodworking and building furniture. He loved taking care of his grandchildren, hunting, fishing and going for coffee with the guys every morning. He served his country in the United States Marines and volunteered for the Edgar Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, Delores "Polly" Brehm, Edgar; two children, Doug (Barb) Brehm, Edgar and Heidi (Paul) Schilling, Edgar; six grandchildren, Taylor, Jake, Seth and Justin Schilling, Simon and Everet Brehm; three sisters, Kathleen Lundwall, Milwaukee, Beverly Imler, West Bend and Shirley Taylor, Milwaukee; one sister-in-law, Judy Brehm, Oconomowoc, other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, is in charge of arrangements.
