Kuechenmeister, Gary Dean (7 March 1937 – 22 November 2016)
Gary Dean Kuechenmeister died at home Nov. 22, 2016, with his wife at his side.
Gary Dean Kuechenmeister was born at home, rural Neillsville March 7, 1937, to
Arthur and Eleanor (Kissling) Kuechenmeister. Gary went to Kurth School and
graduated from Granton High School in 1955. After attended an auto mechanics
class at Eau Claire Technical College, Gary served in the U.S. Army from January
1957 to 1959 with an honorable discharge.
Gary married Marlene Anderegg Sept. 5, 1959, at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Loyal. They were dairy farmers for 30 years on his family farm, their children
being the fifth generation raised there. After having sold the farm, Gary bought
a dump truck and worked on road construction for 10 years. He then drove truck
for Goetz’s until retirement due to ill health.
Gary was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and has been a member of
St. John’s in Neillsville all his life and has served on the church council.
Gary enjoyed watching NASCAR, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, camping, Friday fish
fry’s and traveling, and was blessed by many friends. He was very good at
repairing and keeping his equipment in top shape. One proud point in his life
was when he earned his private pilot’s license, having earned both his tower and
night time ratings. He was a kind, good family man, having a strong faith in the
Lord.
Gary is survived by his wife Marlene, sons: Lee (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and Monty
(Eau Claire), brother Denis (Bonnie) Kuechenmeister of Granton, sister-in-law
Dorothy Anderegg, step-granddaughters, Melissa Hubbard, and Stephanie (Ben)
Nesja, two step-great-grandchildren: William and Taylor Hubbard, and many nieces
and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will take place Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at St. John’s
Evangelical Church in Neillsville with Pastor Timothy Biebert officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of service at 11 a.m.
