Ed Martin returned home Friday from St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, following
two weeks of treatment.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Winslow of Marshfield were weekend visitors at the home of his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Clark and family.
Arthur Wolfram, city, has entered Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, being admitted on
Tuesday for a checkup.
Mr. and Mrs. John Stock drove to Grafton and enjoyed a weekend visit with his
mother, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Tomczak.
Mike Kitze, freshman student at WSU, River Falls, spent a weekend visit with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kitze.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mathewson motored to Clam Lake Friday evening and remained
until Saturday night, visiting with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moore and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Whitman Rork of Sioux Falls, South Dakota were weekend guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Wendt, and attended the annual venison dinner served Saturday
night to 45 guests of members of a local hunting party, at Meadowview Country
Club.
Randy Wendt, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Wendt, City, arrived here on Wednesday of
last week from Baton Rouge, La. Where he has been attending LSU. This next
semester he will be enrolled at WSU, Eau Claire.
Recently returning from a two week vacation to San Salvador, Central America,
was Waverlee Frane, West Bend, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent France.
Jeffrey Mathewson, son of Mr. and Mrs. K.L. Mathewson, and a student at WSU,
Stout, flew to Boston, Mass. Sunday, where he is spending a few days on a
business trip.
Hostesses for Guild meeting lunch to be served at St. Katherine's Church Hall
today will be Mesdames Ben Bruchert and L.W. Cattanach. This is the first of the
afternoon lunches planned for 1968, beginning at 3 p.m. and to which the public
is invited.
Students from WSU, Stevens Point now home for the semester brak include Eileen
Potocnik, Lina Looker, John Strohkirch, Jane Decker, Kitty Shreve, Charlotte
Kell, Patrick Hynes and Dale Buss.
Neighbors gathered at the home of Mrs. Wm. Hingiss Saturday night to help her
celebrate her 75th birthday anniversary. Here for the occasion were he son and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hingiss Jr. of Waukesha, and her daughter, Mrs. Dorothy
Scheel of Milwaukee.
Mrs. Carrie Matthias is spending the winter with her son in Virginia.
Mrs. Louis Hardrath came home from the hospital a week ago, after spending four
weeks in the hospital following surgery.
Otto Bublitz returned home Tuesday of last week from St. Joseph's Hospital at
Marshfield following three weeks of confinement following surgery. Although
still weak he is getting out and gaining strength.
Pauline Reynard of New York City arrived last wweek in Owen to spend the winter
months with her mother, Mrs. William Picus. Her sister is Mrs. Carl J. Pederson
of Withee.
