Filtz, Myrtle E. (Brunke) (18 JUN 1921 - 12 FEB 2010)
Myrtle E. Filtz, 88, Edgar, died Friday February 12, 2010 at Northside Elder
Estates, Stratford, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday February 15, 2010 at
St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will
be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the
church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar is in charge of arrangements.
She was born June 18, 1921 in Edgar, daughter of the late Richard and Emma (Borman)
Brunke.
In her working career, Myrtle had farmed, done babysitting for several years,
worked at Kleinstick Appliance and Standard Container of Edgar, cooked at St.
John School, was a custodian for the Edgar High School and while there was in
charge of maintenance of sports uniforms, as well as working as a cook at the
former Skylight Supper Club, Athens.
Among her favorite things to do were embroidery, sewing, mending clothes,
gardening and polka dancing. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and
was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Circle.
Survivors include five children, Florence (Jim) Kaiser, Sheboygan Falls, David
(Helen) Filtz (Filtzkowski), Edgar, Delores Hall, Edgar, Mary (Jeff) Wolfe,
Mosinee, Eileen (Duane) Kruzitski, Stevens Point, 14 grandchildren and nine
great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Herbert,
Melvin, Earl, Roy and Harry Brunke.
