Knetter, Bernice M. (Hall) (24 JUN 1929 - 14 FEB 2011)

Bernice M. Knetter, 81, Edgar, died Monday February 14, 2011 at her home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

The funeral mass will be celebrated 7:00 p.m. Thursday February 17, 2011 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church.

She was born June 24, 1929 in Marathon, daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Kennedy) Hall. On August 26, 1947 she married Robert P. Knetter at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death April 6, 2009.

Prior to her retirement, Bernice had been employed at the Edgar Packing Co. Bernice truly loved her role as a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Her talents included sewing, crocheting, knitting, especially hats and mittens for her family. Painting and drawing were favorite pastimes and through the years, she sent many hand drawn cards for the Caring Ministry at church. Her religious beliefs were deep rooted and helped her weather the daily challenges of life.

Survivors include her children, Bob (Shirley) Knetter, Batavia, Ill., Ron Knetter, Edgar, Joyce (Michael) Huebsch, Marathon, Chuck (friend, Julie Raatz) Knetter, Edgar, Jan (Roger) Lepak, Marathon, Ken (Mary) Knetter, Edgar and Jack (friend, Julie Anderson) Knetter, Edgar, 28 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, siblings, Ed Hall, Evelyn Hilber, Roland (Mary Lou) Hall, Dick (June) Hall, Dolores Maguire, Mary (Frank) Zebro, Bob (Lucy) Hall.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce and her step-mother, Ellen Hall.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, is in charge of arrangements.
