Lepak, Sandra Mae (Szymanski) (4 DEC 1941 - 9 APR 2010)

Sandra Mae Lepak, 68, Edgar, died Friday April 9, 2010 as the result of a traffic accident.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 13, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. Rev. Barnabas Kyea will preside. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Edgar.

Friends may call on Monday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

She was born December 4, 1941 in Birnamwood, daughter of the late Stanley Sr. and Elizabeth "Elsie" (Knetter) Szymanski. On May 29, 1965, she married Kenneth Lepak at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. He survives.

Sandy graduated from UW - Stevens Point in 1963 as a lab technician and was employed in Wausau for several years before and after her marriage to Ken. After the birth of their third child, she stayed home to help on the farm and also do what she loved best, being a full time wife and mother. For the past 10 years, she was the parish secretary at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the town of Cassel. She was a member of their Rosary Society, taught CCD and since 1984 organized the annual Pro Life Chili Dinner.

Among her favorite things to do were playing cards, bingo, organizing great holiday dinners, but above all, she loved playing games and spending time with her grandchildren. Kenneth and Sandra also loved traveling and had the opportunity to visit all but three of the United States and also traveled to many overseas destinations.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, six children and 22 grandchildren, Sally (Gerard) Bargender, Edgar and their family, Amanda, Rachel, Robert, Michaela, Andrea, Abigail, & Gabrielle; Jane (Mark) Bergs, Edgar and their family, Theresa, David, Monica, Matthew, Catherine & Rosalyn; Ronald (Penny) Lepak, Amery and their sons, Kenneth and Michael; Joe (Patricia) Lepak, Edgar and their family, Benjamin, Scott, Daniel, Laura and Eli; Gerard (Christine) Lepak, La Crosse and their family, Aaron & Emily; Anne Lepak, Edgar, three siblings, Stanley Jr. (Angie) Szymanski, Jacqueline (Terrance) Pyan and Thaddeus (Amy Lang) Szymanski, all of Marathon.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Osswald and a brother, Terrance Szymanski.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to any Pro Life organization.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements.
