Paul, Rita A. (Schueller) (29 SEP 1925 - 22 JUL 2010)

Rita A. Paul, 84, Edgar, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.

The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Edgar.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, 2010, at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home in Edgar and again at the church on Monday from 12 noon to until the time of services. There will be a prayer service at 7:30P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born on September 29, 1925, in the town of Rib Falls, Wisconsin, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Bergs) Schueller. On May 11, 1949, she married her beloved Oscar Paul at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. Her loving husband preceded her death after 55 years of marriage in 2005.

Rita and Oscar worked together to raise a beautiful family and operated their dairy farm until their retirement. She treasured her children and grandchildren and would always have time to talk or a lap to sit on. Rita always had candy and treats available for anyone, including her homemade breads, cinnamon rolls and pies. Rita lovingly made handmade quilts for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She welcomed all their smiles and their youthful activities.

Rita was also devoted to her community and church and gave selflessly of her time and talent. She was an active member of St. John's Parish Council of Catholic Women and Edgar Women's Club. Rita also treasured spending her mornings walking to daily mass at St. John's Parish. She enjoyed reading books and discussing them with the Edgar Book Club. Above all, Rita cherished her family and friends and the time she was able to spend with them.

She is survived by her 14 children: Linda (Michael) King, Edgar; John (Donna) Paul, Wausau; Henry Paul, Edgar; Karen (John) Peters, Rudolph; Christine (Robert) Krautkramer, Marathon; Therese (Richard) Salber, Marathon; Joseph (Diane) Paul, Edgar; Thomas (Nicki) Paul, Edgar; June (Kevin) King, Edgar; Peter (Marcia) Paul, Marathon; Stephen (Lou Ann) Paul, Marathon; Kenneth Paul, Edgar; Mark (Tracy) Paul, Edgar; Ann (Brian) Ahrens, Marathon.

She is also survived by 37 grandchildren: Patrick King, Carol King, Scott King, Matthew Paul, Melinda (Michael) Giguere, Michael Paul, Catherine Peters, Benjamin Peters, Sara (Chad) Quates, Wendy Krautkramer, Julie (Travis) Morrissey, Jason (Amy) Salber, Jessica Salber, Amy (Tim) Schulz, Joseph (Kari) Salber, Aaron Salber, James Salber, Andrew Paul, Daniel (Kristie) Paul, Nicholas(Fiancee Michelle Zajicek) Paul, Chase (Gwen) Paul, Ryan Paul, Jordan Paul, Nathan King, Michelle (Jason) Berdan, Melissa King, Angela King, Alycia King, Jennifer (Marcus) Narvaez, Ashley Paul, Desiree (Bill) Fischer, Heather Paul, Wade Paul, Rose Paul, Mitchel Paul, Adam Ahrens, David Ahrens and 13 great-grandchildren.

Rita is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Ruth Paul, Edgar, Norma Schulz, Edgar, and Carolla "Pat" (Walter) Gust, Richland Center.

She preceded in death by five sisters, Regina Lenard, Loretta Gutkowski, Catherine Schueller, Elizabeth Schmitz, and Marcella Martin.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Rita's name, will be established at a later date.
