Socha, Kathleen M. (Taves) (3 JUN 1936 - 12 APR 2012)

Kathleen M. Socha, 75, Edgar, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Golden Living Center-Continental Manor, Abbotsford, under the care of Asera Care Hospice.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a rosary service at 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

She was born June 3, 1936 in the town of Wien, daughter of the late William and Kathryn (Halkowitz)Taves. On January 28, 1956, she married Florian Socha in Wausau. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1992.

Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed gardening, playing cards and spending time up North at the cottage with family and friends.

Survivors include, two sons, Robert (Charlene) Socha, Edgar and Brian (Wendy) Socha, Colby; one daughter, Barbara (Dan) Ries, Pacific, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Melissa (Joe) Schmirler, Justin Socha (Sheri Norton), Tyler Socha, Ashley Socha (Brad Leader), Sarah Socha, Jennifer Socha, Courtney Socha, Tracey Seehafer, Charlie Buchberger and Clay Buchberger; five great grandchildren, Gage, Dylan, Mason, Dustin and Brianna; two sisters, Ethel Pyke, Mosinee and Mabel Thorton, Janesville; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Florian, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Taves; and four brothers, Joe, William Jr., Walter and Edward Taves.
