Purgett, John H. (15 DEC 1915 – 1 FEB 1968)
John H. Purgett, 52, route 1, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), died of a coronary
attack at 8:40 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 1968, at the Memorial Hospital in
Medford.
Services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 5, from the Hoeper and
Kraut Funeral Home, Owen, with the Rev. Arnold Woodring officiating. Burial was
made in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Purgett was born December 15, 1915 at Iroquois, Illinois, and was married on
December 23, 1939 at Kentland, Indiana to Barbara Lawson, who survives him. The
couple farmed in Illinois until 1951, when they came to the town of Holway.
Pallbearers were Oscar Neibecher, Matt Nowak, George Hamm, Frank Ozelkewski,
Clifford Williams, and Wm. Juntunen.
Other survivors are two sons, Gary, serving with the armed forces in Germany and
Randy at home; a daughter Mrs. …. (the rest of my copy was unreadable).
