Mr. and Mrs. Les Buss spent Sunday visiting his uncle, Bill Malueg, in Marion,
and also participated in the Lions Club big "fishing derby" there, in addition
to enjoying a helicopter ride over Marion and vicinity.
Mr. and Mrs. Gay Christophersen and family and Mrs. Walter lunck were guests at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Timmler in Eau Claire on Sunday.
Over the weekend Miss Lucia Gomez da Silva, our AFS student, was a guest at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Maki of Owen.
Monday Mr. and Mrs. Fred Martij returned to their home in Nebraska after
visiting their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Martij, and helping
them while Richard was in the hospital and recuperating at home.
Mrs. Peter Christensen and son Jack and Mrs. Dora Strobel of Marshfield were
guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Montag and Carl. Supper
guests at the Montag home were Mrs. Phyllis Wenzel and Debbie.
Mrs. Larry Netzer entertained several neighbors and friends at a pink and blue
shower Wednesday evening in honor of Mrs. Duane Oldham. A social evening was
spent and many beautiful gifts were received, and a dainty lunch was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Pawlak attended the funeral of
Forster Will's mother at Colby on Saturday.
Mr. Earl Miller returned home Friday from a hospital in Rochester, Minn., where
he had been a surgical patient the past week.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nielsen visited Mrs. A Thibert at Sacred Heart Hospital in
Eau Claire, and helped her celebrate her 84th birthday on Saturday.
Mrs. Harold Christensen is visiting the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Hellberg and family in Rice Lake this week.
On Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Schultz of Tony were visitors at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Harley Herington.
Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Mericle were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley
Michur of Waukegan, Ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Jackson and family of St. Paul and Miss Kathy and Clarence
Jackson of Stratford were guests at the home of Mrs. Adele Jackson over the
weekend.
After a tree week vacation in Florida, Mr. and Mrs. Arnie Dehne and Mr. and Mrs.
Norbert Bruchert returned home Sunday.
Mrs. Elvie Wenzel of Marshfield visited the Cecil Looker home in Owen several
days last week.
Miss Marcia Rohland of Concordia College in Minneapolis, Minn., who has been
student teaching in Plainview, Minn., is spending a week at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rohland, during semester break.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hendricks were supper guests at the home of their son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hendricks and family in Greenwood Monday
evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Durbin received word of the safe arrival at the new
assignment of their son, Pfc. Robert Durbin, in Hawaii, where he will be
stationed for the present for more training. He spent a 1 day leave at home
before leaving Ft. Lewis, Wash. on February 20th, and arrived in Hawaii the same
afternoon.
Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Auberg were guests at the home o f his brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Auberg, in Eau Claire.
