Ferries, Sandra Jean (3 FEB 1968)
At St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee nuptials were read by the Rev. LeRoy
Urman, which united Miss Sandra Jean Ferries and Roger L. Sarinski in marriage
in a 7:30 o'clock ceremony on Saturday, February 3, 1968. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Ferries of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and the groom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harrie A. Sarinski of Baldwin.
When given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of Peau
taffeta with empire bodice crested with seed pearls and miniature crystals from
which flowed a chapel train of lace and taffeta. A shoulder length illusion veil
flowed from a crest of seed pearl and crystal headpiece. Her bouquet was
fashioned with two imperial orchids with pink tea roses designed in streamers.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Sharon Fick, a cousin of the
bride, and Miss Susan Nelson, bridesmaid. They wore floor length gowns of
watermelon pink set off at the empire bodice with white lace. Their pill box
headpieces were covered with light pink tulle.
Miss Paula Ferries was the junior bridesmaid, and wore a dress identical to the
bride's.
Attending the groom as best man was Mr. Frank Heise, with groomsman, Mr. Robert
Sarinski, brother of the groom. They were dressed in black evening tuxedos with
cummerbund and bow ties.
An eight-thirty dinner and reception as held at the American Legion Hall in
Owen, and attended by 160 guests. Tables were decoated with white and pink
carnations and wedding bells and white and pink crepe paper decorations.
The bride graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1964, and from WSU, River
Falls in January, majoring in English. She is a member of Phi Delta Theta
Sorority.
The groom graduated from Baldwin-Woodville High School and is a student at WSU,
River Falls, majoring in vocal music. He is also employed at Volwrath Erickson
Inc. at River Falls as an electronic draftsman.
The newlyweds are making their home at 235 Union Street, River Falls.
