Kohler, Ernest “Ernie” A. (28 OCT 1930 - 1 SEP 2012)
Ernest “Ernie” A. Kohler, age 81, of 8142 Two Lakes Road, Lake Tomahawk, passed
away on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Seasons of Life, Woodruff, where he
had been a resident for the past 2 months and under the care of Ministry Home
Care Hospice.
The funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at
the Hemer Funeral Home, Rib Lake, with Rev. Cathy Hinman.
Interment will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake where full military
honors will be performed by the Rib Lake Area Military Honors Team.
Pallbearers are Jeffrey, Jeff and Lucas Kohler, Earl Russell, Robert Hanson and
Jaymon Anderson.
Visitation will take place at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.
Saturday, September 8 at the Hemer Funeral Home, Rib Lake.
Ernie was born on October 28, 1930, in Cudahy, WI, to Frank J. and Helen
(Kramer) Kohler.
He is a Graduate of Cudahy High School.
On February 12, 1955, in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Cudahy, Ernie married Helen
E. Kluckman. She survives.
After High School Ernest entered the U.S. Navy and served from 1948-1951. He
then entered the U.S. Marine Corp where he served from 1951-1952. Ernie then
returned to Cudahy where he worked as a machinist at Ladish Co. for 39 ½ years
until his retirement. He enjoyed reading, bowling camping, and being by the
water, especially fishing.
Ernie is survived by his spouse, Helen E. Kohler of Lake Tomahawk, children
Jeffrey (Barbara) Kohler of Richfield and Debra Kohler of New Albin, Iowa; 4
grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a sibling Richard (Gerri) Kohler of
Montello.
He is predeceased by his parents, Frank J. and Helen (Kramer) Kohler; Daughter:
Jill Kohler in 2001; and brother Frank Kohler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ernie’s family to be designated at
a later date.
