Gosbee, Charlene J. (Kabat) (10 MAR 1933 - 9 DEC 2016)
Charlene J. Gosbee, age 83, a township of Chelsea resident, passed away on
Friday, December 9, 2016 at Care Partners in Medford.
The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 12, 2016 at Our
Lady of Perpetual Help in Whittlesey, with Father Phil Juza officiating.
Cremainal interment will take place at a later date at Chelsea Community
Cemetery in Chelsea.
Family members are to be pallbearers.
Visitation will be at 9:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M. Monday,
December 12, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Whittlesey.
Charlene was born on March 10, 1933, in Stevens Point, to Felix F. and Elizabeth
L. (Moeschler) Kabat.
Charlene graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Stevens Point and then attained
her Bachelor’s in Education from Central State College of Stevens Point.
On February 16, 1957 in Stevens Point, Charlene married the love of her life,
John W. Gosbee, and he survives.
After attaining her bachelor’s in education, Charlene moved to Green Bay where
she taught for 2 years before moving to Lodi and teaching there for a period of
time. She then moved to Racine where she taught elementary for 25 years. During
her time in Racine she was an inspirational teacher who had a lifelong impact on
her students. Charlene was a loving and caring woman who enjoyed helping people.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She was a
member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Whittlesey.
Charlene is survived by her husband, John W. Gosbee of Medford; children Alyssa
(Paul) Stang of Sun Prairie; Greg (Rich) Gosbee of Pittsburg, PA; David (Ann)
Gosbee of Plymouth, MI; Peter (Sue) Gosbee of St. Louis, MO; John Gosbee of Ann
Arbor, MI; and Geralynn Gosbee of Racine; 15 grandchildren; siblings Peter Kabat
of Stevens Point; and Susan Kabat of Madison.
She is predeceased by her parents, Felix F. and Elizabeth L. (Moeschler) Kabat;
a daughter-n-law, Laura Gosbee; and a grandson, James C. Doyle in infancy; and a
sister Mary Katherine Worzalla.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to her family to be designated at a
later date.
Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake area are entrusted with the
arrangements.
