Jochimsen, Marie L. (Gosbee) (25 JUN 1925 - 15 DEC 2016)
Marie L. Jochimsen, age 91, a former Town of Molitor resident, passed away on
Thursday, December 15 peacefully at her residence in the City of Medford under
the loving care of her family and Hope Hospice.
Her funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 19 at Holy Rosary
Catholic Church, Medford, with Father Phil Juza & Deacon Joe Stefancin
officiating.
Interment of her cremated remains will take place at OLPH Catholic Cemetery,
Whittlesey at a later date. Pallbearers will be her family.
Visitation will be at 9:30 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM on Monday,
December 19 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.
Marie was born on June 25, 1925, at Medford, to John Wesley and Anna Louise
(Steiner)
Gosbee.
She attended Medford Area Schools; Graduate of UW Stevens Point in 1976 with a
Bachelor Degree in Education & receiving a certificate of scholastic
achievement.
On June 19, 1945, at Drew Field, FL, Marie married Cyril J. Jochimsen. He
preceded her in death October 30, 1986.
Marie’s greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother along with wearing
shades of purple. After normal school graduation in 1944, she taught at various
rural schools in the Medford area. After marriage, they began farming in the
Town of Goodrich, later moved to Dorchester establishing Idle-A-Wile dairy farm
in 1955.
After retirement from farming in 1980, Marie & Cyril moved to the Town of
Molitor. After Cyril’s passing, Marie opened/operated the 80 Acres Green house
for several years with two of her sons. She served as Town of Molitor treasurer
for a period of time. She moved to the City of Medford in 2009. Marie loved her
family, flower gardens, reading, music, traveling and doing Su Do Ku puzzles.
Marie passed her love of flowers and reading to her children, grandchildren &
great-grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.
Marie is survived by her children, Rance (Marlene) Jochimsen; Diane (Mike)
Jochimsen; Linda (Tom) Vanderloop; Bruce Jochimsen; Marla (Mike) Brogan; Gerry
(Mary) Jochimsen; Karen (John) Verthein; Susy (Paul) Boor; Joe (Ann) Jochimsen;
Scott (Anita) Jochimsen; 37 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 3 great great
grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings, John Gosbee of Medford; Brother-in-law:
Charles Mayer of Chelsea; Verna & Darla Jochimsen both of Medford.
Marie is predeceased by her husband Cyril J. Jochimsen; her parents John Wesley
and Anna Louise (Steiner) Gosbee; and siblings Anna Mayer and Marge Jochimsen.
Memorials may be given in her name to either Hope Hospice of Medford, Simek
Memorial Library of Medford or to the family for a future designation.
