Army First Lieutenant David L. Ryniec, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo C. Ryniec, route
1, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, received the Bronze Star Medal August 19, 1968
in Vietnam.
Lt. Ryniec was presented the award for meritorious service in ground operations
against hostile forces in Vietnam.
A platoon leader in Headquarters Company and Band of the 4th Infantry Division's
Support Command, Lt. Ryniec entered the Army in November 1965 and was stationed
at Ft. Lewis, Washington, before arriving in Vietnam. He has received the Air
Medal.
The 23 years old lieutenant graduated from Thorp High School in 1963, and
attended Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire.
