Miss Karen Alger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Alger of Thorp (Clark Co.,
Wis.), became the bride of Jerry P. Hadzima, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hadzima of
Chicago, Ill., on Saturday, August 3rd, 1968, at St. Hedwig's Chapel, Thorp,
Wis. The Rev. Bill Matzek officiated at the High Mass.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a floor length gown of
silk organza, with an empire bodice of embroidered lace, was accented by crystal
teardrops and pearls. The A-line skirt was highlighted by a detachable train
sweeping to chapel length, with lace appliques. Her fingertip veil was trimmed
with embroidered lace with cluster petals of crystal and pearls. She carried a
prayer book with an arrangement of cymbidium orchids and a trail o fyellow tea
roses and ivy.
Attending the bride were Miss Nancy Chaplinski of Minneapolis, cousin of the
bride, as maid of honor. Miss Cathie Benzschawel of Milwaukee and Miss Kathy
Kluk of Chicago, friends of the bride, were bridesmaids. Junior bridesmaid was
Cheryl Alger, sister of the bride. They chaos floor length gowns of maize crepe
with satin brocaded bodices and floor length trains, featuring elbow length
sleeves and scoop necklines. Each carried bouquets of yellow and white
carnations.
The groom's best man was Louis Andruskiewicz of Thorp, friend of the groom. Dan
Alger, Minneapolis, brother of the bride, Bill Kowieski, Eau Claire, cousin of
the groom, and Neil Alger, brother of the bride, were groomsmen.
Ushers were Charles Alger and Jim Kloves.
The dinner reception and dance were held at St. Hedwig's Hall for over 350
guests. Hostes for the dinner was Mrs. Leon Kaczmarek. Mrs. Ken Maier, Mrs.
Bruce Berquist and Mrs. George Mayer helped cut the cake.
After a two week wedding trip to the Western States the couple will reside in
Chicago, Ill., where they are both employed.
Out of town guests were from Gary, Indiana, Chicago, North Riverside, Summit,
Illinois, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Minnesota, Eau Claire, Madison, Marshfield,
Wausau, Pulaski and Green Bay, Wisconsin.
