Jimmie E. Buss, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard L. Buss, route 1, Withee (Clark
Co.), Wisconsin, was promoted to Army Sergeant upon completion of the Ft. Knox
Ky., Armor Non-Commissioned Officer Candidate course July 10, 1968.
During his 12 weeks of classroom and field instruction, the team and troop
leadership, combat demolitions, counter guerilla tactics and fundamentals of
attack. He also received instruction on the turret of the M48A3 and M50 tanks,
and a night compass exercise.
His selection for the course was the result of a specialized Army program that
grants rapid promotions to outstanding individuals. He entered the Army in
December 1967.
