Buchholz, Richard Earl (13 March 1832 – 2 January 2017)
Richard Buchholz, 84, of Neillsville died Jan. 2, 2017, at the Stoney River
Memory Care Center in Marshfield.
Richard Earl Buchholz was born march 13, 1932, in Neillsville, the son of Fred
and Mabel (Morse) Buchholz. He was a lifelong resident of Clark County, as he
grew up in the Town of Weston and attended Christie area schools. He married
Viola (Free) Buchholz Nov. 1, 1952, at the York Center United Methodist Church.
They lived in the Christie area and farmed on the Buchholz family farm.
Richard was a member of the Neillsville Men’s Club. His passion in life was
farming, and he enjoyed playing baseball, softball, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived, by four children: Roger (Joan), Dennis (Judy), Randy and Becky,
all of Neillsville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters:
Leona Mueller, Martha (Leland) Appleyard, Alice (Gerald) Smith, Caroline (Larry)
Spaete and a brother, Arnold (Eileen) Buchholz.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola; a son, Fredrick; his parents, a
brother Fredrick, and a brother-in-law, Arnold Mueller.
A memorial service for Richard will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at
the York Center United Methodist Church. Pastor Michael Carlson will officiate.
Interment will be in the Marie Louise Chapel Cemetery, at a later date.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Gesche Funeral Home and
from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
