Bohnsack, Vivian Elaine (2 June 1930 – 30 December 2016)
Vivian Bohnsack, 86, of Neillsville died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at the Care &
Rehab – Neillsville Center.
Vivian Elaine hemp was born June 2, 1930, in Neillsville, the daughter of Leo
and Clara (Poppe) Hemp. She graduated from Neillsville High School and then
worked at the Neillsville Bank. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Bohnsack
Oct. 6, 1951, at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Globe. Following
their wedding, they farmed north of Neillsville. After Lawrence’s death in 1987,
Vivian sold the farm and moved to Neillsville. Shortly thereafter, she began
working at Mary Lou’s restaurant baking pies.
Vivian was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, their ladies aid
and their OWL’s league in Neillsville. She was also a member of the Happy
Homemaker’s Club in Christie. Her spare time was spent volunteering. She
volunteered for the hospital auxiliary, and she spent many hours volunteering at
the hospital and nursing home as a Grey Lady assisting the residents.
She is survived, by two daughters: Joan (Roger) Buchholz of Christie, and Karen
(Dennis) Radue of Hewett; five grandchildren: Alan Buchholz, Candi (Dale) Shirk,
Laura (Dan) Greene, Zach (fiancé Allyson Kytta) Radue and Karina Radue. She is
also survived, by four great-grandchildren: Abigail Shirk, Megan Shirk, Katrina
Shirk, and Caleb Shirk.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence, her parents, one grandchild,
Brian, and two great-grandchildren, Alexander, and Michael.
Funeral services for Vivian were held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 at St.
John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Timothy Biebert
officiated. Interment was in the Marie Louise Chapel Cemetery in Christie.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Casket bearers are Alan Buchholz, Dale Shirk, Dan Greene, Zach Radue, Bob Bell,
and Rick Beilke.
