Babbitt, Allen Gordon (26 JAN 1915 – 20 OCT 1968)

Allen Gordon Babbitt, 53, passed away suddenly at his home Sunday, October 20, 1968. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday), October 24 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Thorp. Rev. R. Olson will officiated at the two p.m. service, with burial being made in the East Thorp Cemetery.

Mr. Babbitt was born January 26, 1915 at Boyd, Wis., to Ben and Mabel Babbitt, who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Anderson May 6, 1943 at Forest Lake, Minnesota.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtle, four sons, Richard of Oak Forest, Ill., William of the U.S. Navy, Thomas and James at home; one grandson, Mark Allen; seven brothers, Frank of Eau Claire, Lester of Willmar, Minn., Kenneth of Altoona, Lyle and Marvin of Bloomer, Ben Jr. of Lak Lawn, Ill., Dale of Chippewa Falls; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Mayer of Eau Claire, (Ruth) Mrs. Joe Dashiell of Little Rock, Ark., (Iren) Mrs. Harold Hallanger of Thorp, and (Marjorie) Mrs. John Pritchard of Bloomer.
