Ertl, Ronald R. "Ron" (1948? – 6 JAN 2017)
Ronald (Ron) R. Ertl, 68, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 from
complications related to a brain tumor, diagnosed late November 2016. Ron was
born in Loyal, WI and spent 30 years as a farmer. He married Lana and moved to
Marshfield and began working at Fleet Farm where he spent 17 years in the farm
department. A customer recently commented, "He was always there to lend a
helping hand. Just interacting with him would always brighten our mood given his
smiles and honest friendliness, and a genuine passion to help others." When Ron
wasn't working, he could generally be found outside cutting/splitting wood,
fixing things for others and interacting with his grandchildren. Ron looked
forward to the quiet times with his wife enjoying the warmth and comfort of
their wood burning fireplace. Ron leaves his beloved wife, Lana; his
stepchildren: Scott Treglowne (son Devin), Tara Treglowne (daughter Emily),
David Treglowne, Tina and husband Adam Becker (daughters Samantha, Katelyn and
Anna); his mother Marie Ertl; sister Donna and husband Ron (sons Paul and
David); and numerous other relatives and friends. Ron was preceded in death by
his father Raymond Ertl. Ron will be truly missed and will always be remembered
for his strong work ethic, love and pride for his family, and his gentle
demeanor. His family would like to thank the providers at Marshfield Clinic and
St. Joseph's Hospital for their support and care during Ron's treatment.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 am Friday January 13, 2017 at Our Lady of
Peace Catholic Church, 1414 West 5th Street, Marshfield. Father Eric Berns will
officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday January 12, 2016
at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway, Marshfield,
and again from 10:30 am until the time of the Mass Friday at the church.
