Johnson, Betty Jane (Galyen) Risberg (11 NOV 1925 - 16 DEC 2016)
Betty Jane Johnson, 91, Prentice, died on December 16, 2016, at the Aspirus
Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips, WI.
Betty was born on November 11, 1925, in Hayden, Indiana, the daughter of Eugene
and Luella Galyen. She moved to Prentice, WI, after the marriage to Elroy
Risberg in 1944.
Betty later married John H. (Hank) Johnson in 1975. She was a member of First
Baptist Church in Prentice.
Betty loved playing bridge with her friends, and would never miss a Packer game
on TV. She was active in numerous organizations. Betty served as the Village of
Prentice Clerk/Treasurer for many years.
Betty is survived by her sons Gary Risberg, and Rick (Christie) Risberg; step-
daughter Karen (Rich) Blomberg; daughters Sandy (Bruce) Nelson, and Debby (Carl)
Jensen; sister-in-law Geneva Galyen; grandchildren, great grandchildren and
great- great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hank, infants Barbara and
Paul; beloved son Dennis; Brothers Edward and Bob; Sisters Mary and Ethel; and
daughter-in-law Roxie Risberg.
There will be no services at this time. A graveside service will be held in the
spring at Hillside Cemetery in Ogema, WI.
The Heindl Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church in Prentice and the First
Lutheran Church in Prentice.
