Fryklund, Effie L. (Nelson) (23 MAR 1921 - 23 DEC 2016)
Effie L. Fryklund, age 95, current resident of Medford, and a former longtime
resident of Prentice, WI, passed away on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 at her residence
under the loving care of her family and Hope Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 30, 2016 at Hemer
Funeral Home in Medford, with Rev. David Clements officiating. Cremainal
Interment will take place at a later date in Prentice Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 until time of services at 11:00 A.M. Friday,
December 30, 2016 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford.
Effie was born on March 23, 1921, in Prentice, to John A. and Jessie L. Nelson.
She attended grade school at Morner School in Prentice and attended Prentice
High School.
On July 4, 1947, at the Baptist Parsonage in Prentice, Effie married the love of
her life, Carl F. Fryklund. He preceded her in death.
Effie was born and raised in Prentice. After her marriage, they owned and
operated a dairy farm for 30+ years. Effie enjoyed cross country skiing,
gardening, many types of crafts such as braided rugs, quilting, and drawing,
watching old western movies and had a passion for reading. She loved her family
and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Denise) Fryklund of Abbotsford, Linda
L. Patterson of Medford, Duane L. Fryklund of Medford, Sandy (Dan) Reichert of
Medford and Gerald (Julie) Fryklund of Prentice; 13 grandchildren; 29 great
grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
Effie is predeceased by her husband Carl; parents John A. and Jessie L. Nelson;
sons-in-law: Thomas Westrich and Jack Patterson; siblings Anita Nelson and a
baby brother; and a sister-in-law Lorraine (Rudy) Rumberg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Effie’s family to be designated at
a later date.
