Packenham, Anne M. (Brandner) (29 SEP 1917 - 27 DEC 2016)
Anne M. Packenham of Montello, 99, a former Rib Lake area resident, died
Tuesday, Dec. 27 at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage where she had been a patient
for one day.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31 at Good Shepherd Catholic
Church, Rib Lake with Father Otto Bucher officiating. Pallbearers will be her
grandsons, David, Tim, Dan and Todd Packenham, and Jeffrey, John and James
Marthaler.
Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake. Visitation will be at Good
Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11
a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31.
Anne was born on September 29, 1917 in the Township of Chelsea. She attended
Whittlesey elementary schools, was a 1934 graduate of Medford High School, a
1935 graduate of Taylor County Normal School, Medford and a 1967 graduate of
UW-Stevens Point with a degree in education. On June 6, 1939 she married Emil
Packenham at OLPH Catholic Church, Whittlesey, and he preceded her in death Nov.
13, 1986. After marriage, they settled in the Rib Lake area.
She taught in Taylor County schools for 40 years until retirement from the Rib
Lake school district in 1982. She moved to reside with her daughter in Montello
in 2013.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Montello;
Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake; Taylor County WREA; and a past member
of Christian Mothers Confraternity and the National Council of Catholic Women.
Anne is survived by her children, Mark (Mary) Packenham of Claire, Ill., Nancy
Rogers of Brookfield, Barbara Packenham of Stevens Point, James Packenham of Rib
Lake, Mary (Chuck) Bornhoeft of Montello; 14 grandchildren; two
step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren;
brother, Raymond Brandner of Medford, and Rock Brandner of Richfield; a sister,
Rosemary (Bob) Werner of Whittlesey; sisters-in-law, Elinora Brandner, Barbara
Brandner, and Rita Brandner, all of Medford. She is further survived by many
nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her father, Carl
Brandner, Sr.; mother, Kunigunde (Linzner) Brandner; brothers, John, Carl Jr.,
Roman, Herbert and Ralph Brandner; sisters, Catherine Lamberty, Thecla Oestreich
and Ida Scott; and a granddaughter, Lynn Carlson.
