Thielke, Dorothy M. (Werner) (23 SEP 1917 - 30 DEC 2016)

Dorothy M. Thielke, 99, of Medford passed away on December 30, 2016 at Country Gardens in Medford.

She was born on September 23, 1917 to Peter and Mary Werner in Medford. She attended Holy Rosary Elementary School and graduated from Medford High School in 1935.

She married Stanley P. Thielke on September 21, 1940 in Medford. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1976. Dorothy worked for Bootzin’s Mercantile, Federal Land Bank, Taylor County Welfare Department, and as a secretary at Medford Senior High School for 22 years until her retirement in 1985.

In her spare time Dorothy enjoyed reading, traveling, crossword puzzles, playing bridge and cribbage, making quilts, hiking, and spending time with family and loved ones.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Tom (Linda) Thielke of Westboro; grandchildren Anne (Scott) DeFoe of Andover, MN, Erinn (Phil) Tubbs of Amhurst, Trigg (Linda Lopez) Thielke of Ogema, and Trent (Terri) Thielke of Hudson; great-grandchildren Alysse, Beth, Trekk, Jett, Olivia, Roxane, Waylon, Audrey, and Violet; brother, Dick (Shirley) Werner of Medford. She is further survived by many other friends and family.

In addition to her husband Dorothy is preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

A memorial mass for Dorothy will be held on Thursday, January 12 at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford with Father Phil Juza officiating, followed by a private family burial. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 12 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic School and Medford Public Library.
