Westermeier, Helen J. (Petersen) (19 DEC 1920 - 2 JAN 2017)
Helen J. Westermeier, age 96, of Golden Living – Three Oaks, Marshfield, a
former Stetsonville resident, died on Monday, January 2 at Golden Living – Three
Oaks, Marshfield where she had resided for the past 8 months.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 6 at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Stetsonville, with Father Michael Hayden officiating. Interment
of her cremated remains will take place at a later date.
Visitation will be held at 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Friday,
January 6 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Stetsonville.
Helen was born on December 19, 1920, at Marshfield, WI, to David Emanuel and
Josephine Helen (Jakel) Petersen.
She attended Stetsonville Elementary School and was a 1939 graduate of Medford
High School.
On July 8, 1947, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Stetsonville, she was married
to Edward J. Westermeier. He preceded her in death December 30, 1989
After her education, she went to work for her father who owned Midway Telephone
Company in Medford. She worked as the office manager until 1967. From 1986 –
2006, she worked as an office secretary for Stetsonville Hardware until her
retirement. She enjoyed playing the piano/organ, traveling, needlepoint,
quilting & her grandchildren.
Helen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Stetsonville where she
enjoyed serving as a church organist for 60+ years.
She is survived by her children, Josephine Westermeier of Stetsonville; and
David (Judy) Westermeier of Abbotsford; grandchildren, Adam (Lauren)
Westermeier; Katrina & Maia Rollins; Step Grandchildren: Amanda & Mathew (Autena)
Raster; Megan (Bryan) Gusman; Step Great-Grandchildren: Bryan Jr. and Chandler
Gusman.
Helen is predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Westermeier; and her parents,
David Emanuel Josephine Helen (Jakel) Petersen.
Memorials given to the family will be designated at a later date.
