Hilgert, Magdalena (10 DEC 1874 – 30 OCT 1968)
Magdalena Hilgert was born at Schoolhill, Wisconsin, December 10th, 1874, where
she grew up and later married Peter Hilgert.
Later they moved to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), where they were among the earliest
settlers.
Mrs. Hilgert was preceded in death by her husband Peter and son Joseph. After
the death of her husband in 1927, she made her home with her son John and family
of Thorp. After suffering a broken hip, Mrs. Hilgert spent the last 2 years in
Memorial Home at Neillsville, Wis., where she died October 30, 1968.
In addition to her son, John, Mrs. Hilgert is survived by three daughters,
(Clara) Mrs. Frank Harrison of Madison, Anna Robinson of , Anaheim, California,
and (Leona) Mrs. George Biddle of Greenwood, Wis.; 11 grandchildren, 26
great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Mon..? of St. Bernard's parish and an honorary member of
the Christian Mothers Society.
Pallbearers were Casper Haas, Gilbert Voelker, Tom Polnaszek, Frank Schmidt,
Dick Harrison and Dr. Wilfred Erhardt.
She was buried in S. Bernard's Cemetery November 2, 1968.
