Burk, Edward "Eddie" R. (17 MAY 1938 - 8 JAN 2017)
Edward "Eddie" R. Burk, 78, town of Halsey, died Sunday, January 8, 2017 at
Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born May 17, 1938 in the town of Cassel, son of the late Reinhold and
Flossie (Bacon) Burk. In January of 1961, he married Bonniejean Passow in
Wausau. She preceded him in death on January 21, 1981.
Eddie was a truck driver and throughout his life he worked for many different
companies including, Schneider Trucking, Roehl Transport, Inc., Marathon Cheese
Corp. and Fischer Trucking and Bus. He also was the owner and operator of the
former Burk's Beer Barrel in Fenwood. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed
fishing and hunting.
Eddie attended Edgar High School where he was the pitcher for the baseball team.
He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and Chicago Cubs fan and Eddie says to all
his friends and family "Go Packers and Go Cubbies".
Survivors include three children, David R. N. (Renae) Burk, Cynthia A. (Thomas)
Naughton and E. R. Michael Burk II; eight grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and one sister, Edie.
Besides his parents and wife, Bonniejean, he was preceded in death by twin
sisters, Sally and Shirley.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday
from 10:00 a.m. until time of services all at the Edgar funeral home.
