Graves, Lillian C. (Redwine) (27 JUN 1917 - 16 OCT 1994)
Medford native Lillian C. Graves, 77, died Sunday, October 16, 1994, at the home
of her son, Arthur, in the Town of Richfield, Washington County.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, October 19, at Holy Rosary
Catholic Church, Medford, with Rev. Dennis Meulemans officiating. Burial was
held in Perkinstown Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Steve Kreger, Dennis and Jeff Ruge, nephews Gary
Anderson, Elmer Dorava and Lester Meyer.
Visitation and a prayer vigil were held at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford.
The former Lillian C. Redwine was born June 27, 1917 in Perkinstown to George
and Elizabeth (Griesbach) Redwine. She attended Perkinstown School and Taylor
County Normal School.
She married Edward Graves on April 1, 1933 in Medford. He died February 2, 1970.
Lillian and her husband farmed in the Town of Hammel for 22 years. In 1961, they
moved to the city of Medford.
She began work as a nurse’s aid at Memorial Hospital of Taylor County, Medford,
in 1970 and worked until her retirement. In the fall of 1988, she moved to
reside with her son in Washington County. Lillian was a member of Holy Rosary
Catholic Church, Medford.
Survivors include a son, Arthur (Arvilda) of Richfield; three daughters, Dorthea
(Ernie) Kreger of Sun Prairie; Betty Ann Graves of Medford; Stella Graves Stuart
of Norman, Oklahoma; three sisters, Ruby Meyer and Julia Dorava, both of
Perkinstown, and Crystal Anderson of Medford; nine grandchildren; and 13 great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Ruth Ann
Redwine.
